Development Characteristics

Our college's development characteristics encompass teaching, research, counseling, and service across four main dimensions. The ten major development characteristics are "Professional Competence, Interdisciplinary Integration," "Practical Teaching, Industry Alignment," "Dual Mentorship, Practical Enhancement," "Certification and Competence Integration, Doubling Competitiveness," "Technological Innovation, Curriculum Activation," "Diverse Thinking, Innovation and Creativity," "Industry-Academia Collaboration, Innovation and Entrepreneurship," "Character Leadership, Holistic Education," "Social Engagement, Service Learning," and "Cultural Perspectives, International Mobility," advancing towards specialization, practicality, innovation, character building, and internationalization.

Specialization in Professional Knowledge and Cross-Disciplinary Integration

Our college has established a comprehensive regulatory system, including core foundational courses and a professional certification system, to assess students' basic professional abilities and ensure the improvement of teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

Aligned with industry innovation transformation and business model innovation, we have integrated and developed interdisciplinary and diversified innovative programs. These programs incorporate digital technology applications and establish cross-disciplinary credit programs, including International Credit Program, Accounting and Taxation Credit Program, Financial Technology Credit Program, Banking Audit Credit Program, Southeast Asian Business Credit Program, Smart Business Services Credit Program, International Business Taxation Credit Program, and Finance and Tax Information Credit Program. These offerings provide students with diverse elective courses and cultivate business talents aligned with industry development and upgrading needs.

Enhancing Practical Abilities and Doubling Competitiveness

We implement practical teaching by increasing the proportion of practical courses, jointly planning courses with industries, offering off-campus practical internships, organizing industry visits, integrating industry-academia collaboration results into teaching, and conducting practical projects. We collaborate with industries to apply for Ministry of Education's Industry Academy Program and Ministry of Labor's Employment Program, establishing industry-supported undergraduate and graduate programs to nurture talents meeting industry demands. We encourage teachers to participate in industry workshops or services to enhance practical capabilities. We have instituted a dual-mentor system where industry professionals collaborate in teaching to enhance students' practical skills. Moreover, we set professional graduation competency thresholds (professional certifications), provide guidance for obtaining professional certifications, and integrate certifications and capabilities to enhance students' competitive advantages. Additionally, we host large-scale practical forums or seminars with participation from industry professionals, yielding significant outcomes.

Industry-Academia Collaboration for Mutual Success

Our college and departments apply professional expertise to establish strategic alliances with industries, creating an industry-academia platform. Through industry-academia alliances, we progressively deepen to enhance teachers' and students' practical capabilities, provide students with internship and employment opportunities, strengthen teachers' industry-academia collaboration capabilities, and enable industries to acquire outstanding talents, achieving mutual success. Collaborating with corporate partners, we jointly apply for Ministry of Education's Industry Academy Program and Ministry of Labor's Employment Program, establishing industry-supported undergraduate and graduate programs. Corporations provide internship and job opportunities for students and support teachers' industry-academia research projects. Our college's industry partners include Taiwan Financial Training Institute, Institute for Information Industry, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Insurance Association of the Republic of China, major financial institutions, Big Four accounting firms, listed companies, and professional associations.

"Multidimensional Thinking, Innovation, and Creativity"

Encouraging innovative teaching methods among faculty, including flipped classroom, digitalized teaching, case-based teaching, and applying for teaching innovation awards; designing innovative programs and course content to adapt to changes in industry and market. Additionally, establishing student communities, guiding practical competitions, and fostering students' participation in domestic and international competitions, exhibitions, or project presentations, aiming to cultivate "multidimensional thinking" and foster creativity and innovation. Traditional education often emphasizes so-called standard answers, neglecting to train students in handling uncertain situations for critical judgment. However, with technological, international, diversified, and complex transactional environmental changes, this institution strengthens students' independent thinking, integration capabilities, communication skills, and team spirit, thereby developing creative and innovative abilities. The students of this institution excel in domestic and international competitions.

"Character Leadership and Holistic Education"

Sponsored by Honorary Chairman Chen Dingchuan of Everlight Chemical Industrial Corporation, the Character Leadership Education Development Project begins with the Everlight Chemical Industrial Corporation's corporate life—Character Leadership Lecture Series. It includes: 1. Character leadership teaching and educational programs, 2. Faculty and staff character growth camps, 3. Character leadership book clubs, 4. Character leadership lectures, 5. Character leadership corporate visits, and 6. Character leadership digital video presentation events. Currently, each department offers mandatory courses related to "Character Leadership."

Additionally, courses in "Business Ethics" and "Service Learning" are offered, integrating teaching teams across departments and developing diverse teaching methods. The encouragement of student participation in club learning teams and leadership roles aims to cultivate business professionals with character qualities and social awareness.

The college regularly organizes large-scale events to enhance professional, practical, character-oriented, and humanistic capabilities, striving towards a holistic education that balances knowledge and general education, scholarship and character, as well as individual and community dynamics.

"International Integration and Mobility"

Each department of our college has set an "English graduation threshold" to enhance foreign language communication skills. Simultaneously, to broaden students' international perspectives and practical abilities, we annually apply for the Ministry of Economic Affairs' "Emerging Market Overseas Internship Trade Spearhead Program" and the Ministry of Education's "Dream Building in the Academic Ocean Program," sending students for overseas internships with outstanding results.

An article in the August 31, 2016 issue 605 of Commonwealth Magazine reported on the news of students participating in internships in ASEAN countries. These young scholars, from their junior year to their second year of graduate studies, seized the opportunity to gain experience abroad while still young. They directly entered corporate internships, not only sharpening their English communication skills but also gaining deeper insights into ASEAN's local culture and thinking.

Moreover, we offer an advanced Master's program in International Business Innovation and Management in Yangon, Myanmar, and a Master's program in Vietnam. "Aligning International Courses"—we collaborate with The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and The Association of International Accountants (AIA) from the United Kingdom to plan the introduction of internationally relevant courses, enhancing students' international mobility.

"Recruiting International Students"—our various departments and Master's programs in Trade Practice Law and Negotiation recruit exchange students and international exchange students, strengthening international exchanges.

"AACSB Membership"—to enhance the quality of business education and move towards internationalization, our college has become a member of AACSB and is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation.
